Children’s Residential Services
Providing Safe, Nurturing Homes Where Children Can Thrive
At Bright Horizon Children Services, we provide high-quality residential care for children and young people who need a safe, stable, and supportive environment. Our homes are designed to feel welcoming, calm, and secure, offering children the opportunity to heal, grow, and reach their full potential.
Our Approach
We believe every child deserves to feel valued, listened to, and respected. Our care is child-centred and trauma-informed, recognising each young person’s unique experiences, strengths, and needs. We work closely with children, families, and professionals to create personalised care plans that support emotional wellbeing, education, independence, and positive life outcomes.
Specialised Services
We specialise in caring for children and young people aged 0–17 with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health needs. Every child is unique, so we take the time to understand their personality, needs, and what helps them feel safe, calm, and happy.
Our homes are warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully structured to provide consistency and reassurance. Our friendly, highly trained staff use gentle routines, sensory-aware approaches, and positive support to help children with communication, emotional wellbeing, and everyday life skills. We support children to manage their feelings, build confidence, and develop positive relationships at a pace that feels right for them.
We work closely with families, schools, and health professionals to ensure each child receives the right support. Our aim is to provide a nurturing, understanding environment where children feel truly supported and able to grow, develop, and thrive.
Core Values
A clear, values-based culture will lead to a bright future for Horizon Children Services Ltd. These values will be embedded in recruitment, training, supervision, governance, day-to-day care practice, and every decision made within the home.
Safety first
We will prioritise the protection and safeguarding of children in every aspect of the service. Children will live in a home where risk is actively understood, reduced and managed safely, and where staff act promptly and professionally to protect children from harm.
Consistency and stability
We understand that children can only begin to feel safe and settled when they experience consistent adults, predictable routines and calm boundaries. We will create a home environment that promotes emotional security through stable staffing, reliable leadership and clear expectations.
Respect and dignity
Children will be treated as individuals with rights, needs, feelings and hopes. The service will promote dignity, respect, privacy and personal identity, ensuring children feel valued and listened to.
Nurture and relationships
We believe that relationships are the foundation of change. Children will be supported by adults who are emotionally available, patient, boundaried, and committed to building trust over time.
High standards and accountability
We will operate a service that is compliant, well-governed, and professionally led. We will uphold high standards, ensure staff are supported and held accountable, and use learning to improve continuously.
Progress and outcomes
Care must lead to positive outcomes. We will focus on meaningful progress across education, health, emotional wellbeing, identity, relationships, independence and community connection.
Learning and improvement
We will promote a culture where feedback, reflection, and continuous improvement are the norm. Learning will be gathered from children’s experiences, staff practice, incidents, and external professional input, and used to strengthen the service.
